Mehmet II defeated the city in the 15th century and took over Hagia Sophia turning it into a mosque adding fountains and minarets. It was later converted into a museum. People come from all over during different seasons to admire its radiant natural history and elegance.

Sultan Grand Vizier lived in a beautiful palace in the 16th century overlooking the town. With excellent views and extravagant decor the palace was the most expensive private home ever built.
Now a museum it houses over forty thousand examples of Mamluk, Selcuk, and Turkish art, including Koran cases, textiles, calligraphy, illuminated manuscripts, and ceramics. The museum holds a part of the oldest as well as richest collections in the world which is the antique carpet exhibit. Most tourists stand in awe of how amazing and beautiful the place really is.
The Covered Bazaar known as the biggest and oldest enclosed bazaar in the world is one of the most mesmerizing and enticing attractions known by people all over the world in Istanbul. Its consists of over sixty twisted streets stuffed full with over four thousand tea houses, hamams, shops, fountains, storehouses, and mosques. To look, bargain, and shop in these alleyways will overwhelm any tourist.
The enjoyment of doing so will please most. Common items available for purchase is jewellery, carpets, spices, textiles, clothing, ceramics, and many other items.
